F.A.Q's | Wall Collection sizing | Kendra Jean Photography
Most of you are thinking of a couple 8x10s or maybe an 11x14, so in this picture I went a little bit bigger. These are Fine art Canvas Prints that are 12in.x15in. and 8in.x12in.

BUT, why not go a bit bigger and get this! these are Canvas Prints that are 24in.x30in. and 16in.x24in! What a difference

Same thing in this one, an 8in.x12in. and a 12in.x15in,

And this one in bigger sizes, these are a 16inx24in. and a 24in.x30in.!

This is a great visual, the 8x10 or even 11x14s look so much bigger in your mind! So, when ordering prints, you can always send me a picture of your wall that you are thinking about hanging your collections, and I can help you decide on sizes.
(these may not be exact, because I got the room images off of google and I have no idea how big the wall space is! but the proportions of the different sizes are accurate:) )
Also, don't forget to take my Blog reader Survey a couple posts down!

Need a Fathers Day gift??
These are SO cool! This is a cool product that my canvas company offers. What daddy wouldn't want a sweet Metal print? These are your images printed on a metal sheet, that come with a block to stand on a desk or shelf.
This first one shows the sheer background or a white background, when you order please let me know which one you would want.

These are the sheer and white, showing the sizes 8x10 or 11x15. You can choose any image of your own. These are just samples using a template.

And to top it all off, get the back with this printed on it so you can sign it with a sharpie!

How cool are these? I think they would be so fun for (you to have displayed on a table or shelf in your living room) daddy to have on his desk at work or in his workspace at home!
Your options are an 8x10 which are on sale for $55, or an 11x15 which are on sale for $65! Sweet! The price includes either a sheer or white and the printing on the back.
These need to be ordered by June 8th, to be sure to get them by fathers day!

Twenty-Ten and gift cards....
Ok, 2009 has passed us by and we are 6 days into 2010!! it just seems crazy and odd to be saying twenty-ten!
Anyways, thank you to so many of you that commented during the cans for comments period here on the blog. I didn't get a chance to get a picture, but I did get the canned/boxed food items for each comment. Since Frys had the handy drop off boxes for the food drive right by the checkout stands, I didn't have to make the extra stop. Went right through line and dropped them right in the box on my way out the door! Nice:)
Christmas came and went with a blur of running and lots of activities. We had lots of fun visiting with my brother, his wife and kids that came for christmas. Lots of family time and catchup time. Kids got a great surprise of having Santa stop by during our Christmas eve get together!
Now, we have started a new year and I really didn't make any official new years resolutions but I am going to say that I will try be a more regular blogger! And I will be adding more posts about the great products we have to offer.
That brings me to this picture! We now offer Gift cards in any amount, good for sessions or products! So since I already got my first one ordered and sent out, I thought I would post about them with the quick pictures I snapped. This one the To and from are left blank because the buyer wanted to write that in herself!

These are great gift ideas and especially for you brides! Just let your families know we offer them, and if they choose they can purchase in any amount that can go towards your balance or products/prints after the wedding!

Album | Kendra Jean Photography
I LOVE when the men from Fedex or UPS ring my doorbell! That means they are bringing me some lovely goodies! That was this morning, while busy washing the windows throughout my house, the doorbell rang. AND it was this gorgeous album that the wonderful man dropped off!

It has this beautiful image wrapped right onto the cover with a black leather spine and back.

It is a 10x10 with 23 pages.

Heres a couple of the spreads, showing the full page printing with no gap in the middle.

The pictures really don't show you the real beauty! You have to hold it in your hands and feel the soft leather, the perfect thickness of the pages and of course the beautiful couple that it showcases!

Seeing each other before the Ceremony....
Years ago when arranged marriages were the only way to go, the brides parent's wouldn't allow the bride to see the groom before the ceremony. That was just in case she thought he wasn't very good looking and she would run away before the wedding ceremony.
So, this kind of takes away from the need to not see each other before the Ceremony.
Here are some good reasons why to see each other before:
- the bride is a lot more relaxed after she sees her groom.
- we don't have to worry about playing hide and seek with the groom before the ceremony.
- we take all the photographs before the ceremony so the couple, family and guests all get to the reception at the same time.
- we have natural light to get great images of the bride and groom together unlike when they get married at 6 and the sun has already set after the wedding. we normally get a couple flash pictures of the couple standing in front of the church and then they get rushed off to the reception.
-I believe that people hire me for my ability to capture the bride and groom on the wedding day and we get more pictures when we have the time before the ceremony with the natural light. Where as after the ceremony when the guests as well as the wedding party, are ready to get to the reception. In those cases we get rushed, and the creativity is limited as well as the number of images captured.
- the couple gets to see each other alone for the first time, instead of in front of all the ceremony guests.
-They can say things to each other and hug like they wouldn't be able to if they saw each other for the first time at the altar.
-The groom will say things to the bride that she will never forget because it was a no pressure situation.
-They wouldn't be able to speak if they were just seeing each other for the first time at the altar.
- the groom normally has a more genuine and breathtaking "look" on his face when he doesn't have three hundred guests staring at him as you walk down the aisle.
- there is 99% less stress on everyone involved in the wedding day.
If you decide to see each other before, here is how it works:
-We keep the couple separated until they are fully dressed and ready.
-Once the bride is ready we send the groom to the front of the ceremony sight (or anywhere on the property) and have his back towards her with no one else around if you want the privacy, then when we tell him to turn around and take his first look at his beautiful bride, in her stunning dress.
-This is where the magic happens. Tears, beautiful words and relief hit the couple.
-The bride and groom are no longer nervous and he was able to see her walking down the aisle as he always dreamed.
-I take a few images from the sidelines so the couple can have some privacy. When they are ready we go photograph them privately and then start the wedding party and family pictures.
Hope this helps with the planning of your day!

New School year and holidays...
Also, with the busy holidays, you don't want to forget about the CLASS OF 2009 Senior sessions!! It is better to take them early so they are done before it gets to late. I like to have all the seniors done by March, to make sure that you have plenty of time to send out before Graduation!!
Sessions are usually one hour, at the location of your choice and you will receive a CD of all images. The session fee is $125 and if you want me to design your Holiday card or Senior announcement there is an additional charge.
So make sure to call and set a date for you session!

Coffee table Albums
Here is the process for designing and ordering an album:
-First, you can make a list of your favorite images, or must have photos.
-I will then start designing the album, using most or all of your images. At the same time adding ones that I think will add to the album. Once the design is finished, I will place it online for you to look over.
-While you are looking it over you can make photo changes. (keep in mind, horizontal for horizontal and vertical for vertical!) You can also add pages if you would like at an additional charge. The most common is a 20 page album.
-After I make the changes I will put the design online again.
-As soon as you approve the album and decide on final cover options, I will place the order!
-Depending on how fast the above steps go, your album can take an estimated time of 4-6 months after your wedding to get the finished book.
Here is one of my newest ones in a soft cream leather and a photo cut out in the center. It is a 10x1o with 20 pages it.
The pages lay flat when the album is opened and there is just a small seam in the middle. Therefore, you don't have to worry about the pictures becoming creased and eventually, possibly tearing in the center.
Engagement sessions
Before the engagement shoot we can come up with fun ideas for where we can do your engagement shoot or different ideas of what you enjoy doing together. We don't have to shoot at a park, we can do anywhere that you would like! I've done fun downtown locations, a coffee shop, at homes! Let's go somewhere unique so you can get shots that reflect who you are as a couple! Come to your session expecting to interact and get close to each other! Basically you will interact and focus on one another alot more than on the camera.
I like to tell clients to wear casual clothes to the shoot--something you would feel comfortable sitting on the ground in. And, you can wear whatever you would like, but I do suggest you stay away from busy patterns or anything that would draw the eye away from your faces.
Another, is the lighting, the best lighting is just before sunset. So when you schedule, I usually do shoots an hour and a half before sun down. These same things apply for family, I love to capture the family interacting with each other, and overall just having a good time with each other. To get your true emotions!

You can use this chart as your reference...
